Merry Christmas!
From our bums - to yours. haha.
Christmas Eve was a fun day!
We had a brunch at our neighbor's house with some friends and their kids. Spencer wore himself out playing! We then had a fun visit from some nearby friends (DeMartin's) who used to live near us in LA with a gift for Spencer and a delicious cookie plate for us! Her cookie plate saved me in the hospital with Spencer - all of the food was terrible! Or at least tasted terrible to me at the time. She made an extra plate of cookies of our favorites for us to freeze and then take to the hospital. Talk about sweet friends!
Later in the day, Gordon and Spencer fixed a leak in Spencer's bathroom sink. Luckily, we didn't keep anything under the sink except a tupperware sealed that was full of medicine - but there had been a leak in there for a looong time that we didn't know about. My handy husband took care of it and now it's good as new. Spencer is still scared to use it though, I think. He keeps sneaking off to our bathroom.
Spencer stole the camera while I was making dinner and Dad was busy under the sink so we have some fun shots of his race tracks and other random things. He's hilarious.
His abstract shot of our Christmas lights. We eventually got them up and we love having it all lit up at night. Christmas is awesome.
Oh, Christmas is so much more fun with kids!!!
Spencer was SO excited this year for Santa to come. We thought he would be up bright and early and rarin' to go. But, he slept until 7:30 and then came into our room and as usual asked "is it wake up time now?" I pulled him into bed with us and he cuddled and watched a show and didn't remember at all! So, we took our time waking up and once we were ready, we reminded him of the day - we're not super mean, it wasn't long - we were out there by 7:45 or so.
Once he remembered it was Christmas he couldn't wait to see what Santa brought. All he asked for was a toolbox and some race cars. He must have been a good boy because they were waiting for him!
I like how he's sincerely interested in watching Dad open his stocking. :)
Santa stuffed my stocking well, too! :)
Spencer loved opening all of the presents. Thank you thank you to all of the cousins and Grandparents who sent such sweet gifts. We hope to have thank you cards out from Spencer soon, but it may get a bit busy around here soon!
Check out that belly! I didn't realize how far back from the counter I have to stand, but Spence snapped this while I was cooking dinner Christmas Eve. We had stromboli (fancy word for pizza roll up). I think it may become Christmas Eve tradition. We all love it.
Merry Christmas!
Thanks Grandmas!!!
Gordon got a waffle maker for Christmas and put it to goooood use this morning after we opened presents. He made (from scratch) buttermilk waffles and they were AWESOME! And looked beautiful too. Both he and the waffles. :)
Merry Christmas!
We'll keep you updated on our soon to be Christmas gift that is on his way!
