Long overdue update

It's going to take me a few posts to make up for time lost, but here's a start!

We ordered bunkbeds for the boys right before Halloween.  After a few delivery mistakes/backorder problems - they came in on Spencer's birthday!  Right before Christmas.  The boys were so excited!!!

Random picture, but these bikes are all over around here as art -- Spencer loves/hates to try and ride them.  ha!

This dude slept in there great from the get go!  Spencer did great for a few weeks and then started to have a hard time sleeping at night - feeling nervous/scared.  Luckily, we've worked through that and now he's back to loving his bed and sleeping great!

Daniel will sometimes try and climb out of bed at night, but we've told him if he gets out of bed, he doesn't get to sleep with his doggie.  He only needs to be told that once and he clings to that dog and climbs right into bed.  Kind of sad, but it helps him get to sleep.  

This is our boys' favorite perching spot at Target.  Yes, we have a huge-normous Target here.  But, there are a million people living here, so it kind of makes sense.  We love it! 

Daddy had more than two weeks off at Christmas time and we LOVED it!  We did lots of walks to the park and bike rides and outdoor time.  It was beautiful.  

We also made a trip to the Palo Alto Children's Museum.  It's a neat little museum with lots of cool bugs and engineering experimental machines and a little outdoor zoo.  Plus, there's a park right next door where you can take your lunch.  It's a nice place. 

This photo pretty much sums up our gingerbread house experience.  Spencer got into it and had a blast, Daniel chowed down as much candy as he could get!

A few days after Christmas, we took the boys to Lake Tahoe for some snow fun!  They have never seen snow (Spencer did when he was 1) and Spencer loved it from the start!  The first day, Daniel wasn't too keen on it, but once he realized he could eat the snow - it was a different ballgame!  He loves eating crushed ice, and this was his dream cup of ice!  :) 

We did sledding at North Tahoe on day one and tubing at South Tahoe on day two.  We loved both places, but preferred the more populated South Tahoe where there were fun shops/restaurants around the snow resorts.  It was also much lighter and softer snow. 

Later on in the break, we did a Chuck E Cheese trip.  Those are always fun.  Daniel just loves sitting on all of the rides.  He doesn't really care if they move or not.  Half the time, he gets off before it's finished.  He's a cheap date there.  :) 

Later in January, Gordon had to travel to China.  I was having some trouble with my vertigo and my awesome sister, Becky and her daughter, Sammy, came out to help/visit.  Luckily, it got better and better before they came and while they were here - so it was mostly just a fun visit!  We loved having them!  

We took a train ride to a little park about 3 stops north of us and had lunch there while the kids played.  I thought Daniel was going to LOVE the train ride.  He points out trains wherever we go and always wants to go on walks to see the "choo choo".  And he was loving being right next to the tracks ...until the huge, loud train came up.  Then, he freaked out a little.  

He cheered up once we were on board.  

Of course there were a few game nights while the girls were here.  We introduced them to "The Farming Game".  I think they liked it. 

And then off to the beach!  A friend recommended a great little spot near Santa Cruz and we loved it. It has a great tide pool for the little ones and the big kids had a blast in the waves and climbing in the little rock caves.  It was such a fun trip!
