Daddy has been traveling to China ... a lot this year!
We are so so so happy to have him back home safe and sound.
Spencer made this welcome home sign to tape on the window for him to see.
His letters are getting really good and the balloons below are "decorations". ha.
We also taped copies of those two pictures above on the window so that Daddy could see pictures of us when he walked in. :)
Friday night before Easter Sunday, Daddy came home and surprised us! He told me he had planned a family night for Friday and not to cook any dinner. Okay!
Then, he came home and said he kind of had to tell me what we were doing because we needed to pack our bags.
WAAAHHAT?
He reserved a hotel in a town about 20 minutes North of us. We have a bunch of hotel points racked up from him staying in super luxurious hotels in China. (Poor guy...) We are saving most of them up for a big road trip this fall, but he cashed one in for us for the weekend. It was awesome.
We went up there, checked in and Spencer said, "Is this where we live now?" Ha. At least we know he's easy going for the next time we move!
We grabbed some yummy dinner and then came back to the hotel and swam in the pool. It was cool outside but the pool was nice and warm. Spencer had a blast, but after about half an hour he started saying "This is SO fun" with super chattery teeth. So we got out and we all took warm showers and got in bed to cuddle. We had a pull out couch for the little man and he crashed, so we got to stay up and watch "What Would You Do?" There's something about a hotel that makes even just watching a show together super fun.
The next morning we woke up and headed to the ward Easter Egg hunt at a mini golf course (same one as last year) SEE HERE but I mis-read the announcement and it started at 9 instead of 10. Oops.
Spencer missed the WHOLE egg hunt. We thought he would be crushed, but the lady in charge had some extra eggs and just counted out 12 and put them in his basket and he was happy as could be. :)
Gordon and Spencer did a round of mini golf while I chatted with friends and we came home and all took naps.
On Monday, we had some friends over for FHE and did a lesson on Easter and had our own little egg hunt in the backyard. The kids had a great time and found them all SOOO fast.
Overall, a great Easter.
We loved sharing the real meaning of Easter with Spencer this year.
I think he kind of got it and hopefully it will continue to sink in each year to come. :)

Sounds like a perfect weekend!
Well heck, no wonder you were late for the egg hunt if you were having a vacay at a hotel! Sounds like sooooo much fun and a great break. Actually, I'm pretty jealous. Time for chocolate. ;)
