Reunion Part 2

After being in Missouri for a few days, we made the drive to Illinois for the Thorne Family Reunion. My Dad's parents have had reunions every two years for the past ... long time. It's starting to become a very large crowd!

We had a dinner at the place where my Grandpa lives one of the evenings we were there. It was an nice catered dinner, and we all wore our Thorne Reunion t-shirts. Good job on the shirts, Bec!

The hotel where we stayed had a room that you can rent out for big parties that we had while we were there. To the right of the picture, you can see the windows that looked down over the pool. It was a fun room to watch the kids swim and a great place to play games and eat together.

Ella and Gordon just chatting away.

These crazy kids just hopped in our car when we were driving somewhere. They're pretty cute, so we decided we'd let them tag along.

Then they did this, so we kicked them out.

At the family dinner, we took a bunch of group shots. I wasn't the actual person taking pictures, I just got snapshots of the real group shots happening. This is the Great Grandchild picture, trying to happen. It's become a pretty large group, so getting everyone to look and cooperate is a little tricky. At least Grandpa can laugh about it. :)

Aww...

Chrissy and cousin Melissa. She lives in Orem and teaches High School Choir, go Melissa!

Ethan and Max getting their new scuba gear on for the pool.

Gordon always makes such serious faces in pictures.

Our fellow Cali cousins: Marty and Mandy.

Guess who took this picture?

She's learning a love for chocolate at a young age.

It makes her really happy.

And... really messy.

After dinner, we had a little talent show/singing time. Here is Nate booging down on the piano. He's awesome.

Melissa and Baylee at the piano.

The thing to do in our family is : If you don't play the piano, it's just as cool to sit underneath it. Sometimes people look at you and just assume you play if you're somewhere near the thing.

All of the Terry Thorne family (minus Steve and Bill). Big group, phew!

Max fell asleep, with his sunglasses on. You've got to look cool, even when you're zonked out on your Mom.

The traditional poker game. Gordon played and quickly lost all three of the dollars he put in. :)

Who is this crazy man carrying me?

The look-alikes.

Aww...niece and aunt together again. Sweet reunion.

Nate's a stud. We all know it. We just walk around like this all day to show him off to the world.

At least he's trying to stay in the game. haha.

Grandma and sleeping Lucy.

The last day we were in IL, we all went to a bowling alley in the afternoon for a few games. Everyone had a great time and played well.

Go Gordon!

Here's the REAL bowler in our family. He puts us all to shame. This is the 300 game and 700 series man. Yeah...he's good.

Nate, Ty and Mandy. What a team.

Back at the hotel, Aunt Sandra had a fun craft for the kids: oreos on a stick that you dip in chocolate and coat with toppings. Yum-o.

After we got back from reunion, we did laundry, and then two days later moved into a house! Haha, not ours. We house-sat for a family in the ward so that there was someone there with their little dog, Sparky. This picture is to prove to Gordon that he was calm during the day. As soon as Gordon got home, he got crazy and excited. But with me all day, he'd nap, let me scratch his tummy, and just follow me around. It was pretty cute.

Their backyard. You can guess what I did most afternoons.

The two best buds playing in the yard.

Looks like you had a great time with your family! And house sitting is the best because it feels like you're on a mini-vacation. Hopefully things aren't too boring now that you're back to the daily grind :)
