April and May 2015

Daddy and Daniel love to take pictures when Mommy is out.  Daniel is such a cheese ball!

Spencer just finished another session of gymnastics.  He is loving it!  While he's in his class, Daniel and I usually do errands or walk around the lake that's by the community center.  And occasionally, we stop by the bathroom - Daniel loves washing his hands and playing in the water.  It's the little things ...

Our ward had a combined Easter Egg Hunt at Golfland with another ward in the area this year.  It was a great turnout - lots of kids and enough food for everyone.  Phew!  It was hard to determine how many people to plan on, but luckily, it all worked out.
The boys loved hunting for eggs all over the golf course.  Then, Daniel discovered the little streams of water and he decided that it was more fun to play in the water than to hunt for plastic eggs.  He cam home soaked.  :)

The next weekend was the actual Easter holiday.  We took a family trip up to Santa Rosa (about 3 hours north of us) and stayed for two nights.  We swam in the pool, played and had a great time.  On Saturday, we drove up to Glass Beach with the boys.  The brief history of Glass Beach is that a long time ago, people started throwing their trash over the cliffs of this beach.  Eventually, they realized that was not such a great idea.  So, the clean up effort began.  They were able to clean up the beach and get the big trash out of the way - but it was next to impossible to clean up the bits of glass left behind.  Over the years, the waves and salt of the sea have softened the edges and now there is lots of glass left behind, but it's safe to walk on and search and collect colorful pieces to bring home.  It was more of a rock climbing and exploring beach as opposed to a sand digging beach - but we managed to find a nice spot for Daniel to dig.

I love this action shot of Spencer flying off of the top of a rock he climbed.

Fun with mom's phone in the hotel.  :)

Somehow these pictures got out of order, but Daniel got a scooter for Easter and is still mastering it.  He's slow going, but is loving it!

The boys in their matching Easter slippers.

We have never done Easter morning in a hotel before, but it went pretty well!  It was tricky, though, because the boys saw their baskets as soon as they opened their eyes in the morning.  There was no time to relax and wake up first.  So, the "Easter morning" pictures are a bit ... sleepy.

Spring break is next.  And we were off to Colorado for the week to visit with G&G Dix and cousins!
Daniel slept the entire way to Colorado on the flight out.  Such a good boy.

We visited the Denver Zoo one day while we were there.  It was so beautiful and nicely laid out. The boys had a great time and we were all exhausted and sun burned at the end.

Aunt Emily playing with little Daniel.  :)

Out of order again, but me and Spence got to ride next to each other on the way out - then we swapped on the way home.  It was fun to just sit and chat with him and read and play.

Emily and Ella came out from Utah for part of the week while we were there.  It was so fun to play with Ella and catch up with Emily.  The last time we saw Ella, she was SO tiny!

More zoo fun.  :)

Towards the end of our week, we got a surprise snow storm!  It was awesome.  We had sun and fun at the beginning of the week and snow at the end.  The boys (especially Spencer and Gordon) loved playing in the snow and making snowballs.

The last few days of our trip, we drove down south to Denver to stay with Taylor, Steph and their kids for a few nights.  While we were there, Cami had her sixth birthday party.  It was a garden party (they made fairy houses, flower head pieces and got their faces painted) it was the cutest little girls party ever!  The boys didn't come for the fairy/garden part, but they came out to get their faces painted like dragons.  So cool.

We also went to a kids museum with the cousins while we were in Denver.  It was really fun!

Part of the flight home, Daniel got to sit with Daddy and just loved it!

While we had an amazing time and miss our family like crazy, it was nice to get back home again.  California really feels like home now and we are loving it.  :)

Those were more out of order pictures from Colorado (above).  Tons of snow playing and toy fun with cousins.

One of Spencer's best friends from school, Luis, had a birthday party at a trampoline park.  He had such a great time and came home exhausted!

Last weekend, Gordon and Spencer took the train up to SF to see a Giants game.  Spencer loved the train ride just about as much as the game, but they both cam home smiling!  They forgot jackets, so Spence lucked out and Daddy bought him a Giants sweatshirt.  He wears it almost everyday when we walk to school.  :)
They have such a cute relationship and just love spending time together.  He's such a good Daddy.

Ha!  Gordon will probably hate me for putting this up here, but the kids in our stake had a Mormon prom night.  He was asked to help serve the food at the dinner provided before the dance.  They were told to wear white shirts and bow ties, he also brought fake mustaches for all of the servers and they played it up like they were real Italian servers.  I hear the kids all loved it!
